Here I would like to provide instructions on how to enable Multi Factor Authentication to your AWS accounts to provide additional security

Even if we have strong passwords on our accounts as cloud is open network and can encounter attacks by others. So MFA ensures that your account is not accessible via any kind of attacks. This adds another security layer protecting your account.

MFA : It is combination of your account login credentials + a security code from your device.

MFA Options on AWS

Virtual devices apps : Google Authenticator, One login, Authy etc..

Go to Users Tab

or select My Security Credentials

And select Assign MFA

Now Based on your choice, you can select the option.

After you successfully created MFA you get a message

Now once you try to login to your account. you need MFA to access.
